WatchOS 7
WatchOS 7 comes with new
features such as fitness and health, along with some Apple Watch's love with an
abundance of new faces and related features. There are also some other reasons
for using your Watch rather than removing your iPhone, such as new Shortcuts
and Maps for cycling. Although not the most exciting annual update, the overall
direction of WatchOS 7 is not much to complain about. As always, the
implementation of the new features is still deeper. So let’s go through the
article to identify each feature briefly.
Hearing protection of
WatchOS 7
The WHO suggests that
people listen only for 40 hours a week to sound over 80 decibels, which is
coincidentally simple if you're an avid headphone user. If you are using Apple
WatchOS 7, it will allow you to protect your hearing until that limit is
reached for a certain week. Some people will be irritated, but of course, it
will improve wellbeing over the long term.
WatchOS 7 bedtime feature
WatchOS 7 improves the
ability to monitor your sleep cycles and provides the 'Bedtime' functionality
that we saw on the iPhone. The purpose of this feature is to make sure you sleep
and awake (with alert), and wake up on time. Without any sign of silence or
soft sounds on your watch, the Apple Watch gives you a quiet haptic alert,
while the wake-up screen displays the battery. Apple Watch reminds you to
charge it if you have sleep tracking enabled, yet this battery is too low near
bedtime.
Sleep tracking uses the
micro-movement detection from the accelerometer of the Apple Watch when you
sleep and how much sleep you take, but that's just part of the story, even when
you don't use the Sleep Tracking part, you can still use the app. When you wake up in the morning you will see
an overview of your previous night's sleep and also a chart showing the weekly trend toward sleeping.
WatchOS 7 fitness
Exercise is one of the key
activities around which Apple Watch focuses. This year, watchOS 7 includes a
variety of changes. Firstly, a new iPhone name for the Activity app; Fitness.
When you check for the app with your exercise and other iPhone activity statistics,
this is the one you need to look for. In the App watch, the app is still
active. Second, the Fitness App features
four new forms of exercise. You have dance, functional strength training, and
core training, which are intended to improve the exercise as your pulse is
normalized and your breathing becomes more regular.
Apple seems especially
proud of this form of dance workout which uses Apple Watch's sensors and
machine learning in various styles to analyze your dance. It can calculate
whether you use just arm movements, if you only use leg movements and if you
use your whole body to dance. The ability to adjust all your fitness ring
metrics is a smaller upgrade that was not present in the Beta releases but can
be found in the public version. You have already been able to adjust the active
calorie goal for the outer exercise ring, but for the middle practice ring and
the inner standing ring, you can do the same now.
