Apple releases iOS 14.3 with new features
Apple has released iOS14.3 and iPad OS 14.3 to the public yesterday, 14th December 2020.
It comes with a bunch of new amazing features for iDevice users. The latest
features are part of Apple's previously impressive list of capabilities that
were introduced in September by iOS 14 to its mobile devices. For example, by
creating custom app icons and putting new widgets anywhere you want and you can
fully customize your iPhone home screen. A new feature in the iPad update now
allows you to type in any text area with the Apple Pencil and to turn it into the text rather than pulling the keyboard upwards. And that's just the start.
New Home screen
The iPhone has got a
drawer-like app called App Library, which serves as a warehouse for storing all
applications you don't use daily. The App Library can be reached by wiping all
existing home screens from right to left. The ability to put widgets on the
home screen is another first for the iPhone. Apple provided developers with
tools that will make your Android friends jealous of a new widget style
Apple fitness plus
Apple Fitness Plus is the
latest service designed for Apple Watch, priced at $9.99 per month and featured
in the highest level Apple One bundle. The Apple Watch provides guided training
by Apple-hired trainers, used to monitor progress through the training. Video
workouts are seen on Apple TV, iPad, or iPhone, and Apple Watch metrics are
available on the screen. Working types include high-intensity interval
training, treadmill running, strength dance, yoga, core, rowing, and mindful
cooldown.
App clips
Consider App Clips as
thumbnails that only show you part of what the entire app can do. A Yelp App clip, for example, can display business hours and the restaurant menu for you
and nothing more. If you want to try one, search for Panera Bread and search a
location, then tap the order feed app on your iPhone. You can access it again in the recently added
folder after you use an App Clip in the App Library.
Shortcut apps and own app
icons
The most popular addition
is to create their own app icons and customize the look of your phone
completely. Apple also added new features to its shortcut app. So you can
download an icon that replaces an image of a lovely cat or a Gmail icon instead
of the Apple Mail application icon and use it to start the app. The process is
a bit tedious, but it's worth your time if you want a home screen that is
different from anyone else.
Bug fixes
With iOS 14.3 you can fix
a bug that might prevent certain MMS messages from being received and a
problem that could prevent groups of contacts from failing to view members when
writing a message. Some of the video clips did not appear when shared from the photos
app and the app folders could not open; both are fixed. The application folders
could not open correctly. Apple dealt with a large one which could cause
Spotlight opening apps not to function and in settings of the Bluetooth option
was not present.
